Frequently Asked Questions

We know things come up, and we want you to feel supported and in the loop. Here are some of the most common questions about joining us at My Purple Mat, plus a few loving boundaries we have to keep our space peaceful for everyone. 

  • All sessions must be booked in advance through our website.
  • You may reschedule your session up to 4 hours in advance using the reschedule options in your confirmation or reminder email/text. 
  • Each session includes one reschedule opportunity. After that, the session may be forfeited or considered a cancellation. 
  • Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a full session charge. 
  • No-shows or late cancellations may result in a full session charge. 
  • Packages must be used within the stated expiration window. Unused sessions beyond this time may be forfeited unless otherwise arranged in advance.                


  •  A minimum of 3 participants is required for each event to take place. 
  • If the minimum is not met, the event will be canceled 3 days prior to the scheduled date. 
  • Registered participants will be notified via phone, email and text and will have the option to:
         Transfer their registration to a future event, of equal value or
         Receive a full refund.             


 1. Deposits & Payment

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. 
  • The remaining balance is due by a specific date (e.g., 30 or 45 days prior to the retreat).
     

2. Cancellations by Participant

  • Cancellations made before the final payment date may be eligible for a partial refund (minus the deposit). 
  • Cancellations made after the final payment date are generally non-refundable, unless you can fill the spot. 
  • Participants are welcome to transfer their spot to another person (with prior approval).
     

3. Cancellations by Organizer (MPM)

  • If the retreat must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., illness, venue issues, low enrollment), participants will receive a full refund or credit toward a future retreat. 
  • MPM is not responsible for additional costs incurred (such as airfare or travel insurance).
     

4. Travel & Insurance 

  • Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to/from the retreat. 
  • Travel insurance is strongly encouraged to cover unexpected cancellations, illness, or emergencies.
     

5. Liability & Expectations

  • By registering, participants agree to take full responsibility for their health and well-being during the retreat. 
  • A waiver may be required acknowledging that retreat activities are voluntary.


6. Payment in Full

  • Participants who choose to pay in full at the time of booking are still subject to the same cancellation and refund policies as outlined above. 
  • Paying in full is optional and may be chosen for convience, but please note that the deposit portion remains non-refundable. 
  • Any eligible refunds will be processed minus the deposit amount. 


7. Local One-Day Retreats

  • Local one-day retreats follow the same deposit and cancellation guidelines as our multi-day retreats, with the following adjustments:
    • Full payment is typically due at the time of registration (unless prior arrangements have been made). 
    • Cancellations made 7 days prior are eligible for a 50% refund.
    • Cancellations made within 7 days are non-refundable, but registration may be transferred to another person with approval and advance notice.



  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to settle in.
  • If you're more than 10 minutes late, you may need to schedule another session to preserve the experience of others. 
  • Doors may be locked once class begins to preserve a peaceful space. 
  • If you are entering a few minutes late, please be mindful of the stillness and quietness that others may be seeking. Respect this sacred space by moving quietly and with care. 


  • Yoga mat (or borrow one of ours )
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in
  • Optional: your favorite props (blocks, straps, etc.) --props are also provided in the studio for use.


  • Silence your phone before entering the space.
  • Remove shoes at the door
  • Respect the peaceful nature of the room and others' personal space.
  • Please avoid wearing perfumes or strongly scented products. Due to sensitivities and the nature of our shared healing space, we ask that all clients come fragrance-free whenever possible.


  • If you're feeling unwell, please reschedule.
  • Let us know if you're working with an injury or special conditions before class. 


Conversations, experiences, and healing shared in this space remain confidential.

We honor all identities, backgrounds, and bodies.


We follow the Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) inclement weather policy. If BCPS cancels school or closes early due to weather conditions, our session and events will also be canceled. 


In the event of a delayed school opening, morning sessions will be canceled, and afternoon or evening sessions will proceed as scheduled unless otherwise communicated.
